🚌 Transit Operator firms

Run a taxi service with a live meter. A transit firm runs taxis. You set your rate, start the meter and the fare grows with the distance your passenger really travels. Buses are planned for a future update, so taxis are all that is live for now.

Get your license
Apply for the Transit Operator license through the Red County Administration Building.
Register the firm
Registration happens at the Red County Administration Building front desk with /firmcreate [field] [abbreviation] [name]. The abbreviation is up to 8 characters and the name up to 64. The fee comes out of your cash and you become the owner.
Get a taxi
Firm vehicles are assigned by staff. Any Taxi or Cabbie can be used for the meter.
⏱️
Using the meter
From clocking on to the final fare
Set your rate
In the driver's seat of a Taxi or Cabbie, use /fare [$1-$5]. This sets your rate per unit and puts you on duty. Use /fare again to clock off.
Start the meter
When your passenger is in, use /startmeter. A sign on the car shows your rate and the running total.
Drive
The meter counts the distance actually driven. Each 30 units travelled adds your rate to the fare.
Stop the meter
/stopmeter locks in the final fare on the sign. Your passenger pays you in roleplay.
Leaving the car clocks you off. Getting out of the vehicle while on duty puts you off duty automatically, so you don't leave a meter running.
💵
Getting paid
How the fare reaches you

The meter only tells you the fare. The passenger hands you the money themselves, so settle it in roleplay when you stop the meter. A lower rate is cheaper for the customer and a higher rate earns more per trip, within the $1 to $5 limit.

Your crew
Ranks, permissions and the firm bank

A firm starts with room for 10 members. The owner invites people with /firminvite and everyone works under one of four ranks. Each member also has permissions, and the owner can see who has what with /firmmembers.

  • Promote or demote with /firmrank [player] [1-4], or /firmorank [character id] when they are offline. /firmkick and /firmokick remove someone.
  • Members clock in with /firmduty. Most job commands only work while you are on duty.
  • The firm bank is shared. Anyone can deposit with /firmbank deposit [amount], but withdrawing needs the bank permission. Owners and managers have it.
  • Every driver needs to be on duty in the firm to use the meter.
  • Only the owner can close the firm, with /firmclose. Closing is final.
