Pay n Spray garages in Red County, working GPS waypoints for dealerships and garages, wagers that actually cost and pay, and pizza deliveries across the whole county.

+Added
  • Pay n Spray garages. Pay n Spray garages have opened in Dillimore, Blueberry and Palomino Creek. Each one has a label and a map icon, and appears in /gps.
~Changed
  • Pizza deliveries. The pizza job now delivers to houses all over Red County, not only the towns near the pizzeria.
✓Fixed
  • GPS waypoints. The dealership waypoints in /gps were still pointing at places in Los Santos. Each dealership now has its own entry, named after the dealership and leading to where it really is, and the list follows them if staff add, move or delete one. The Pay n Spray waypoints lead to the real garages.
  • House tiers list. The /housetiers window had a long line of text that squashed the table and pushed the rent column off the side. The explanation now appears in chat and the table shows every column.
  • Lowrider and dance battle wagers. The stake was never taken from either player and the winner was paid nothing. Each player now pays half of the pot when the challenge is accepted, the winner takes the pot, a draw returns both stakes, and walking away from a duel forfeits your stake to your rival.
  • Long messages. A handful of help lists and notices were longer than the game can show and were cut off or dropped. They are now split over two lines.
  • MDC addresses. The addresses shown in the MDC use the Red County area names, not the old map names.

A pilot's license, texts and missed calls that reach you while you are offline, passing drug supplies to your faction, and a handful of quality of life commands.

+Added
  • /rpm. Replies to the last private message you received, so you don't need to type their ID. /rpm [text].
  • /togf. A shorter way to type /nofaction, which turns faction messages (including /f) off for you only, and back on again.
  • /piss. The animation is back.
  • /housetiers. Shows what each house tier means: its type (trailer, bungalow, small house, large house, mansion or villa), what a real estate firm pays the server for it, and the price and rent ranges for that tier.
  • /auncuff. Admin command to uncuff or untie any player, or yourself.
  • Extra faction spawn points. Faction leaders can now add up to 4 extra spawn points for their faction. Stand where you want it and use /addfspawn [name]; /fspawns lists them with their IDs, /movefspawn [id] moves one to where you stand and /delfspawn [id] removes one. Every member of the faction can choose them under Faction Spawn Points in the spawn menu when they log in, separate from the main faction spawn. They are not tied to squads.
  • /passdrugsupplies. Hand one of your drug supplies (seeds and powders, see /drugsupplies) to a member of your own faction who is standing next to you, so the people who grow and cook no longer need to be Street Bosses to get them. /passdrugsupplies [player] [weed/coke/crack/meth] [slot]. It needs a free slot of that type on their side, and the hand-over is logged.
  • Texts and calls while offline. Texting a number whose owner is offline now works: the text is waiting in their inbox, and they are told about unread texts when they log in. Calling a number whose owner is offline now shows up as a missed call in their call history.
  • Pilot's license. Aircraft now need a pilot's license. Take the ground school test with /takepilottest at the Aircraft Dealership (you need a driver's license and the $1,500 fee). Without one you can't fly a player-owned or rented aircraft; faction and job aircraft are not affected. Show it with /license [player] pilot.
~Changed
  • Palomino Sub Station and the Fire Station. These two spawns are now faction spawn points, so they sit under Faction Spawn Points in the spawn menu instead of being built in. They stay as they were: the Palomino Sub Station is only offered to RCSO members, and the Montgomery Fire Station to RCSO Fire/EMT squads.
  • Moving the faction spawn is free. The main faction spawn, set with /fspawn, no longer costs $25,000 to move. It still works the way it did, and only the faction leader can use it.
  • Cargo prices hold still. A storage now quotes one price for the whole production hour, so every crate in a load costs (or pays) the same instead of creeping up as you pick them off. Prices still rise and fall with stock from hour to hour.
  • Hand a crate back. Bought one crate too many? Stand at the storage it came from and use /cargo sell to hand it back at that storage's price, instead of dropping it on the floor.
  • Trucker help is up to date. The message when you get into a trucking vehicle, /help and the /tpda menu now point at the current commands. /tpda has a new Trucker Commands page listing them all.
  • Trucker Guide. The trucker guide is now in the Guides section of the site, with the milk price, how cargo prices are set and the toll charges brought up to date.
  • Passengers see the compass. The direction and street name shown in a vehicle now appear for passengers as well as the driver. The existing setting still turns it off.
  • Slot hours. Reduced slot hours by around 33.3%. Vehicles: 3rd slot at 50 hours (was 75), 4th at 100 (was 150), 5th at 160 (was 250). Houses: 2nd at 50 (was 75), 3rd at 130 (was 200). Businesses: 1st at 50 (was 75), 2nd at 130 (was 200).
  • No entering an interior straight after a fight. You can't enter a property for 20 seconds after hurting another player or being hurt by one, so running inside is no longer a way to escape a fight. On-duty admins are not affected.
✓Fixed
  • Eggs can be sold. Nothing bought eggs, so the egg farm had no customer. The Ship now buys eggs at the flat export price.
  • Buying cargo costs money. Buying cargo, in crates or by the tanker load, was not taking any money from the buyer. It now charges the price shown.
  • Tolls for logistics trucks. Tractor units (Linerunner, Tanker and Roadtrain) were being charged $0 at the toll gates. They now pay $10 per slot of the trailer they are towing, or a flat $100 with no trailer.
  • Handcuffs and logging out. You can't use /logout while handcuffed or tied any more, and a character you switch to no longer starts out cuffed. If you leave the game while handcuffed (/q or closing it) and log back in within 5 minutes, you come back in the same cuffs at your last location, so the scene can carry on. If you don't, that character is admin jailed for 30 minutes the next time you log in, with the reason "Logged while handcuffed".

Interiors keep their own lighting and weather, a proper front desk at the Red County Administration Building, uniforms and squad access for each locker, custom skin fixes, and more for the Sheriff's Office.

+Added
  • Palomino Creek Sheriff's Station. A new Sheriff's Office building has been added in Palomino Creek.
  • Real estate firms. A new firm type for anyone who wants to be a landlord. Houses nobody owns are now bought by real estate firms, who rent them out and sell them on to players. Firms buy a house from the server with /firmpropertybuy, set the rent with /propertyrent, and list it for sale with /propertyprice at between 100% and 200% of what they paid. Players buy it with /propertybuy at the door. If a firm buys the house you are renting you stay put, and your rent goes to the firm.
  • House tiers. Every house now has a tier from 1 (trailer) to 5 (mansion or villa). The tier sets what a house costs and the range its rent can be set in, with a minimum as well as a maximum. Houses without a tier can't be bought or rented yet, and /propertyrent 0 still turns renting off.
  • Real estate help desks. Staff place a help desk in each real estate firm's office. Standing next to it and using /propertylist shows that firm's houses for sale and rent, and marks the one you pick on your map. Agents can also lock and unlock the firm's houses to show them.
  • A Real Estate guide. The website guides now explain how to find a home and how to run a real estate firm.
  • More RCSO clothing and gear. The deputy toy store has SWAT versions of the Sergeant, MFTO and Deputy Sheriff patches, plus a sheriff hat, sheriff helmet, shoulder radio, medical bag, GET vest, police cap and tape.
  • Uniforms for each locker. Faction uniforms can now be tied to a locker type, so each locker only offers its own uniforms. Staff set this on the Faction Skins page of the website or with /fskinadd, and uniforms that aren't tied to a locker still show everywhere. Squad-only uniforms, like the SWAT ones, stay hidden from everyone outside that squad.
  • Squad lockers. A locker can now be limited to one squad, so only its members can use it. Staff set the squad on the Lockers page of the website.
~Changed
  • Uniforms are changed at lockers. Law enforcement and medical factions now change uniform at their lockers with /uniform, not at the faction spawn point. Factions without lockers, like gangs, can still use it at their spawn point.
  • The Palomino Sub Station. The sheriff's second spawn option is now the Palomino Sub Station, at the new Palomino Creek station, instead of Washington Beach.
  • No limit on tier 1 members. A faction can have any number of tier 1 members now, and /settier no longer stops at two. Command staff such as the Sheriff and the Undersheriff can all be tier 1.
  • Interiors keep their lighting and weather. The time you set with /propertytime and the weather from /propertyweather now stay fixed while you are inside, even as the server clock moves on or the weather outside changes. The clock on your HUD keeps ticking. /propertytime -1 0 makes a property follow the server time again.
  • The Red County Administration Building has its own front desk. Name changes, paying vehicle tickets and registering a firm now use the Red County Administration Building front desk. Before, they only worked at the Highway Patrol desk.
✓Fixed
  • Custom skins. Skins that staff disable on the website are no longer loaded, a skin that has been deleted no longer leaves your character stuck, and skins with a base ID of 0 now load. They are also ready sooner after a server restart.

History

Before County Lines

Where the script came from: the original SP-RP release, GTA Legacy, SOLS and Streets of Vice. Reconstructed from the source and revision history of each version, so older entries are grouped by month and are less exact than the official log above.

2019 – 2024SOLS, GTA-C and SP-RP

Where the script comes from. It began as the SOLS gamemode in 2019, became GTA-C, and in late 2024 became SP-RP - a roleplay script that peaked at over 200 concurrent players and was later released as open source. Everything after this point is built on top of it.

SP-RP 1.0.5August 2024

The starting point

What we inherited
  • About 2,300 commits and 8 collaborators of work from the original team, running in production for over five years.
  • Dynamic properties. Houses and businesses are properties with their own income, an extensive interior furniture system, wardrobes, storage for guns and drugs, a realtor, door roleplay commands and property robberies.
  • Dynamic vehicles. Owned and static vehicles, a full tuning system, damage saving, pay-and-spray, fuel stations (ownable), car scrapping and transfer, a singleplayer-style vehicle HUD.
  • Factions. Police, medical, news, government, gangs and more, each with ranks, tiers, squads, armories, radios, arrest and charge systems and a 911 call system. There was no MDC - police relied on helper commands to look up properties, characters and vehicles.
  • Crime and economy. Drugs, a chop shop, carjacking and hotwiring, gun dealers, a hitman system, trucking, garbage and dockworker jobs, a gym and fighting styles.
  • Everything around it. Phones, SMS and phonebook, boomboxes, a news broadcast system, gates and passpoints, a GPS, custom skins and nametags, attachments and clothing stores, spraytags, an anticheat suite, and extensive admin, helper and contributor tooling.
Jan – Mar 2025GTA Legacy

The first modified source. GTA Legacy took the released SP-RP script and rebuilt it for a new server (GTA:L v3.0.4a), adding new factions, jobs, police tools and a lot of mapping. Compared with the original SP-RP, this is what changed.

January 2025

First fork

Rebrand and base
  • Rebranded the script as GTA Legacy. New server name, website, donation and paintjob links, and a new GTA:L version tag, with the original SP-RP credits kept.
  • Plugin and database fixes so the script builds and connects cleanly on the new server (MySQL and plugin fixes).
  • Seasonal events switched off (Halloween, Christmas and Easter scripts and their commands were removed from the build).
Factions and law enforcement
  • More faction types. Sheriff, Federal, Port Authority, Public Works and Security joined the existing types, with their own squads (SWAT, Air Support and Dispatch Command for the Sheriff, Detectives and Uniformed for Port Police, Parking Enforcement for Public Works, Armed Security).
  • New badges for Federal, Security and Port Authority.
  • The first police MDC. SP-RP had none; Legacy added an in-vehicle MDC (/mdc) for on-duty law enforcement and government records staff.
  • More police tools: unit callsigns and car signs, /units, /equipment, a federal radio, a speed trap system, gun racks with a larger weapon list (AR-15, SWAT SMG, SWAT shotgun), and /kevlaroff.
  • Law enforcement pay now covers every LEA faction type, with Public Works getting its own salary.
Mapping
  • A large mapping pass. Los Santos, City Hall, the Docks, a FBI building, LSPD, an ELS Sheriff station, the Plaza, Port Authority and Taxi buildings, plus gang territory maps (KTB, LSV, RHB, SBF, TDF, VLA) all gained dedicated map files.
  • GTA Chronicles map pack. Bone County, El Castillo, El Quebrados, Las Barrancas, Las Payasadas and Tierra Robada were brought in as filterscript maps.
  • New filterscripts: a fire station, fireworks and horse racing.
February – March 2025

New jobs, systems and polish

Added
  • Fishing job. Fish, sell your catch and keep a fish log (/fish, /sellfish, /fishes, /putback). Needs a fishing permit, and bait shops exist as a property type. Rebuilt substantially in late March.
  • Taxi job. Taxi and Cabbie drivers get a meter with /fare, /startmeter and /stopmeter.
  • Trailers. /detach for towed trailers.
  • Property audio, time and weather. Property owners can set the time of day, weather and audio inside their property (/propertytime, /propertyweather, /propertyaudio) and assign a property to a faction.
  • Gates. /gateautoopen and /gatenear for automatic gate control.
  • Gym and Federal property types, and a larger list of purchase types.
  • Trucking commodity list reworked with meat, pork, chicken, turkey, milk, eggs, corn, wheat, potato, carrot and more.
  • Radio presets. New boombox stations: country, rock, dance, metal, pop, hip hop and 80s synthwave.
  • Vehicle colour names. Every vehicle colour got a proper name rather than a number.
  • Admin tools. Gun bans, /gotomarker, /gotoadminroom, /givejetpack, /savemodels and /saveremovebuildings, plus /synccarsigns.
  • Fake name and elevator commands for roleplay, and a larger voiceline list for gang members.
  • IC jail. Arrest time and location are saved on the character so jail time survives a relog.
  • Public website. A first website, with ACP, custom skins and forum rank pages, was added to the project.
Changed
  • Streaming overhaul. Visible object limit raised to 2000 with faster streamer ticks and larger cells.
  • Emmet gun dealers gained a Desert Eagle option and stock tracking.
  • Removed the old /kane, /vls, /searchname and /searchplayer commands and the original seasonal event commands.
